The Old Vicarage Reopening

The Old Vicarage, in Northwich, has officially reopened its doors following a £72,000 refurbishment, awarded in July 2024, marking an exciting new chapter for the much‑loved community wellbeing hub.

The building has been transformed into a brighter, more functional, and more welcoming space - reflecting the growing community spirit and increasing demand for its vital mental health support services.

On the refurbishment Cabinet Member Sheila Little said:

“The transformation of The Old Vicarage is a shining example of how investing in community spaces can change lives. This newly refurbished hub offers not only practical support, but also a sense of belonging for residents who need it most. The team and people who use the service should be incredibly proud of what they have created here — it is a safe, welcoming and truly uplifting place.”

Since 2023, The Old Vicarage has seen a steady rise in daily attendance, with 25–30 people now visiting every day. The enhanced space not only accommodates these growing numbers but also creates new opportunities for expansion of activities, groups, and support services.

Being a safe, supportive space for mental health and wellbeing The Old Vicarage provides a non‑judgmental, welcoming environment for adults with a mental health diagnosis, offering structure, social connection, and meaningful activities throughout the week.

The transformation of the building has created a warm, homely, and highly functional space designed around the needs of those who use it.
