Statement from The Potteries Centre regarding extending opening hours

To counteract the increase in footfall following the Government's latest announcement, The Potteries Centre will be extending its opening hours this week from 9:00am to 8:00pm, on Tuesday and Wednesday, allowing customers to shop safely and get ahead of their Christmas shopping before the centre becomes essential retail only.

Amy Whittaker, General Manager of The Potteries Centre, said:

“Over the past few days, we have seen an increase in footfall following the Government’s latest announcement. Understandably our customers are making the most of stores being open and our retailers are seeing an increase in sales.

To give our customers a little bit more time we will be extending opening hours this week from 9.00am to 8.00pm on Tuesday and Wednesday evening to allow customers a little bit more time to get ahead of their Christmas shopping before the centre becomes essential retail only.

“We have measures which remain in place to ensure our shoppers’ safety when they visit. These include the requirement to wear face coverings within the centre, increased cleaning regimes and hand sanitisation points.

“From Thursday the Centre will be open for essential stores such as The Post Office and Superdrug, some of our restaurants will be open for take away and a number of our stores will be open for Click and Collect. We continue to follow the official Government guidance and are monitoring the situation closely.”
