These are trying times that we are going through, unchartered territory, the great unknown. But one thing is for sure and that is we are going to make it through.
We know as much as anyone that when times are tough then the wonderful Silkmen faithful pull together and help each other through.
We also know that there are many people out there who are struggling as a result of the social distancing restrictions which have been imposed on us all to fight against the spread of Coronavirus.
There will be people who will be suffering in silence, struggling to make it through each and every day.
Isolation exemplifies your feelings and so people will be worrying about a whole range of things - their health, their family, their next pay cheque and all those events which may not happen now.
In short, about life itself.
We want to reach out to all those who really are struggling with the social distancing regulations by keeping in contact with them on a personal level.
As a result, we are initiating a service whereby those supporters who want or need a call from one of us will receive one.
Sometimes the simplest ideas are the most effective and if we can help just one person get through these unprecedented times then we will do.
Whether it's to reminisce about days gone by, to talk about football in general or to talk about anything which may be playing on their mind.
Essentially, it is an invitation to do what we do best and that is to stand together and support each other and our community when times are hard.
Clearly the number of supporters who will take this up is a little bit unpredictable and as such, we will initially prioritise those who are vulnerable and season ticket holders first.
That said, we will endeavour to respond to all requests as quickly as we possibly can.
If you know someone who would benefit from this, then please do email us at press@mtfc.co.uk and we will do our absolute best to facilitate this.
Because when you can't do what you do, you do what you can.
