Share your thoughts on Cheadle Market development

Cheadle’s Market Hall and Square are changing – and we want to hear your insights and ideas on how this space is developed to best serve the community.

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council now owns the indoor Market Hall and is developing plans for investment in the building and the outdoor area.

Residents, businesses, and anyone with an interest in the future development of this area of the town is invited to come along and share their thoughts on the emerging proposals at an event on Wednesday 3 June.

Councillor Darren Price, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Planning, said:

“The Market Hall and Square are central to our regeneration plans in Cheadle and at the heart of creating the right conditions to support a strong local economy in the future.

“So it’s really important that we get this right. That’s why we want to hear from you – we know residents and businesses will have plenty of ideas and we want to listen to everyone who has an interest in making this project successful before we make any final decisions.

“Thanks to everyone who has already shared their views and I hope as many people as possible will be able to join us for the tour and the discussion next week. Everyone is welcome and I look forward to hearing what you have to say.”

Those wanting to take part are invited to meet at the Market Hall at 12.50pm for a tour of the market followed by refreshments and a discussion at the Guild Hall at 2pm.
