A prolific burglar from Northwich has been jailed again after he admitted to breaking into a business premises in the town.
Jonathan Heron appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Friday 6 June where he pleaded guilty to breaking into a fitness studio on Chester Way on Sunday 1st June.
The 48-year-old, of no fixed abode, was subsequently sentenced to six months in prison.
The court heard how on the morning of Sunday 1st June, Heron broke into a fitness studio on Chester Way and stole a small quantity of cash before fleeing the scene.
Officers were called to the premises and Heron was quickly identified as a suspect and later arrested on Wednesday 4 June.
During his arrest officers recovered a pair of Nike trainers which were later found to match footprints which had been found at the scene of the crime.
Following the sentencing, Police Constable Dean Butterworth, of Northwich Proactive CID said:
“Heron has committed several burglaries across the Northwich area in recent years, and despite repeated attempts to engage with him he continues to offend.
“On this occasion, he only managed to steal £15 from the premises, and as a result of his continued behaviour, he’s now been sentenced to six-months in prison where he’ll be able to reflect on his actions.”
