Mayor of Knutsford, Cllr Peter Coan, kicked off his term with his first fundraiser of the year, a family BBQ which took place at the Council Offices on Friday 21st July.
The Mayor’s BBQ has become an annual event with lawn games for entertainment, a bar and a prize raffle helping raise more funds on the night. Local businesses provided the event with food and drink and 1st Knutsford Scout group kindly helped with the BBQ
Over £400 was raised for the Mayor’s chosen charities, Knutsford Men’s Shed, a community space for men to connect, converse and create and Knutsford GROW, which brings together two groups of people for mutual benefit; providing gardening services for people not able to tend their own gardens and providing opportunities for volunteers to deliver a community service.
Cllr Coan said:
‘This was a great first fundraiser of my Mayoral term, it was great so see lots of both new and familiar faces. The rain stayed away and a huge thank you to 1st Knutsford Scouts for their help and support on the evening!’
