Help Decide Where Congleton’s Development Money is Spent

Congleton Town Council has received £21,684 from the Community Infrastructure Levy – funding raised from developers to improve local facilities. Now, the town council needs input from residents to help decide how best to use it.

CIL funding must be spent on projects that benefit the community.

Following resident discussions at the Annual Town Meeting, three priority projects have been put forward:

• Safer Streets – Install pedestrian safety gates on Bridge Street and Little Street.
• Town Centre Refresh – Upgrade and maintain benches, bins, and signage.
• Better Toilets – Contribute to the refurbishment of town centre public toilets (once legal transfer from Cheshire East has been achieved).

Congleton Town Mayor, Cllr Robert Brittain said:

“This funding belongs to the people of Congleton – it should be spent on what matters most to you. We need your views to make sure the money delivers the greatest benefit. Don’t miss this chance to influence the future of our town centre.”

Residents are encouraged to take part in the short survey to select their preferred option.
