Congleton Invited to Celebrate Mayor’s Civic Service and Parade

Congleton Town Council is pleased to invite residents, community groups, charities, and local organisations to the Mayor’s Civic Service and Parade, taking place on Sunday 22 June 2025.

The event will be held to welcome the newly elected Town Mayor, Cllr Robert Brittain, and is a longstanding tradition that brings together the heart of Congleton’s community.

The parade will assemble at the rear of Congleton Town Hall, departing at 2.45pm, led by Rode Hall Silver Band, and proceed to St Peter’s Church, Chapel Street for the Civic Service, which begins at 3pm.

All are welcome to take part in the parade or, if preferred, go directly to the church for the service. Residents are warmly encouraged to turn out along the parade route and give participants a wave as they pass by.

Following the service, a reception will be held at the Town Hall for those who took part in the proceedings, offering an opportunity to reflect and connect with others involved in the day’s events.

Congleton Town Mayor, Cllr Robert Brittain, said:

Community groups, uniformed organisations, charities, and associations are especially encouraged to attend. Groups are welcome to bring flags or banners to display proudly during the parade. To assist with planning, attendees are kindly asked to confirm their participation by Friday 13 June, along with an approximate number of attendees.
