CCTV images released following assault in Congleton

Officers investigating an assault in Congleton have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.

At around 12.37am on Wednesday 26 June, police were called to reports of an assault in High Street, Congleton.

A 17-year-old boy suffered serious head injuries as a result of the incident and was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Officers investigating the incident have released CCTV images of a further man they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.

Detective Constable Max Lewin said:

“We have been conducting a number of enquiries to establish what took place and we have now released CCTV images in a bid to locate a further man who we believe holds vital information.

“We would urge anyone who recognises the man in the images to contact us. We would also appeal directly to the man pictured to get in touch."
